Just an update on this old problem.

I did extensive testing to try and figure out the cause of the poor performance and had no luck at all. However I've noticed that on the last few flights, fps have been incredibly high. On inspection I noticed that somehow the FSWXR2100.dll has gone missing form the modules folder. Perhaps through uninstalling another addon which uses it...I don't know, but it has 100% fixed my problem. Clearly just having that module in the folder, whether the wx radar was turned on in the aircraft or not, was enough to cause a problem.

It's not an ideal solution, but I can live without weather radar in the name of keeping frame rates at a good level.

Thought I'd let you know incase it's something that you wish to investigate for future products, or for anyone else who might have the same issues.

Cheers

Hi all...Just wanted to confirm that bisoll is on to something except...Obviously its not a .dll in the modules folder...its the "FSWXR2100.gau" in the gauge folder.

EDIT: After further study and some distance flying...I'm sorry to report that the current problem of frame dropping still exists. There seems to some kind of memory leak of some sort going on with this plane. Once again, frames begin strong but end in single digits after time spent flying.

I hope Feelthere spends some time looking into this problem.

I seen this, AOG Add On Gauges in reference to FSWXR2100:

On page 21 of the manual it says:
6.6 Performance
The FSWXR2100 normally don’t hit the frames, but that depends on the screen
size. Reduce radar size as much as possible, then frame performance is best.

http://members.chello.at/addongauges/FSWXR2100%20User%20Manual.pdf

And this also:
http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=193&t=71103&sid=6c38ec558553b36e3f6f824de460135b

I have Vista 32 bit, have not modified the panel.cfg and my FPS remain ok in FS9 and FSX.

So, why would Win7 64bit need a mod ??

Something strange here!

And I would assume everyone with Win7 64 Bit would face the same problem ..

I have same problem. During my flight FPS is constantly dropping. In the beginning I have about 30-60 depending on airport, after about 3h of flight I'm getting 3-4 fps. All the other planes work perfectly and FPS is steady. I'm using FSX installed on separate partition with Win7 home premium 64bit. Could you give me any advice?

have you followed the suggestions in this thread, and others, concerning the WX gauge?

I turned off weather radar support in configuration but it didn't help. So the only way to fix fsp issue is to delete weather radar .gau file? It works good in other addons I have, so if it's possible I don't want to delete it from fsx. Is there any way to remove it just from erj 145?

Unfortunately I too have these performance problems. I just recently upgraded my whole computer including a move from XP 32 bit to 7 64 bit. I can't truly be upset, as I know there was never advertised support for 64 bit operating systems. It's a shame though, as the ERJ v2 was the first RJ for FSX that I truly considered to be a top notch, full systems (minus the failures, which I'm ok with) aircraft. I'll try some of the proposed fixes (eg. WXR) and report back if any of them work. Otherwise, here's to hoping someone somewhere finds the problem.

No idea if this will work for the ERJ in FSX, but I found the resolution to my issue with the 737 series in FS9. I had selected a compatibility mode of WindowsXP SP3 and for some reason it created this scenario. After removing the compatibility mode from FS9 things work normally.

Somebody already found a solution for this? I removed the .gau It helps for a few moments but once on cruise the fps is not higher then 12fps think

Robin,

What is your system information?
FS9 / FSX or both have problem for you?
Is you motherboard or video card overclocked?
Removing the gauge file did not correct your problem .. correct?

Hye,

I have a Q9550 @ 2,8Ghz
Geforce 9800GT 1024mb
4Gb RAM.

Not overclocked

It is with Fs9

I played FSX for a while and had good frames with FSX but not with Fs9
I'm thinking about to return to FSX again but the frames weren't so good, thats why I'm still with Fs9.
Removing the gauge did not helped to increase performance.

Robin,

For FS 9.1 (correct?)
What is your FPS "locked" at?
Weather = clear sky, 11am.
What is FPS at airport XXXX (pick one with default scenery) ready for takeoff?
What is FPS during climb say 10,000 feet?

I have Vista32 2.33GHz

I will test.

Are you using more that one display?
What is the size?

It is ofcourse FS9.1
It doesn't matter if the sky is clear or whatever. As soon as I get airborn the frames drop very slowly. When I reach cruiselevel there isn''t very much left of it (about 10fps)
The FPS is locked at 30 and I get that with all the planes I have on the ground no mather what airport

It is Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Maybe it is Windows 7 or the problem is 64 bit version.

Robin,

Did you "Upgrade" your hard drive to Win7-64?
Or, did you purchase a new PC with Win7-64 already on it?
Or, did you reformat an old hard drive (erase it) and install Win7-64 and then reinstall all your software products?

Yes,

Bought this PC with Windows Vista x86
Upgraded a few things. More RAM, New CPU and a new videocart.
I reformat my harddisk and installed Win7 x64.

Ok,
You have a user "home built" computer.
It has a new Operating System and new hardware components.
At the moment, I think that is where your problem is.

Well first I bought this PC in the store. Didn't build it by myself. I replaced some parts in the past 2 years
I'm not the only one (as you can see in this topic) who has problems with the fps in fs9 + win7 x64

I think it is wilco-software-related and not due to some hardware.

Robin,

I went back and looked a some posts here.

James (Jim) wrote in this topic.
"I am running W7 x64 RC with the ERJ145 and E-Jets (E170/190) installed. So far I have no noticable issues with the E145".

Another pilot wrote, "after" his own computer upgrade:
"Unfortunately I too have these performance problems. I just recently upgraded my whole computer including a move from XP 32 bit to 7 64 bit. I can't truly be upset, as I know there was never advertised support for 64 bit operating systems."

So far, out of all the Win7-64 users, only a few people (seven) have this problem.

I would think all Win7-64 users would be having (reporting here) the "same" problem!

I have it about the E-jets. Some other people also told that.

Robin,

"Some" is the problem here.
"Most" do not have the problem.

The way I look at it is:
The assumption here is that the Operating System, MSFS and the ERJv2 is the same for all pilots.

The difference is all the installed hardware/software and how it is configured for different pilots on any one computer.

The Operating System configuration set up by the Administrator, the path to the files, the file access secutity, the firewalls, the network configurations, user privileges, virus checkers, video drivers, weather programs etc. to name a few.

The problem is to find out why only a very few are reporting the problem.

What have you done so far to isolate (troubleshoot) your problem?

Edit:
I did another search and found this bit of information on this forum ...

This was posted by richardepain 11-11-2009.

"I purchased the ERJ 145 series 2 yesterday but find that the frames rates are very low indeed on Win7 64 bit. - down to 5 FPS!"

"An update on the low frame rates on Win7 64 bit. I did a fresh install of Win 7 ( not upgrade) and re installed FSX. The frame rate for the ERJ series 2 are now - excellent 25- 30 in the vc.
Thanks for the interest shown.Richard Pain "
