Drivers,

First time ever we launch a racing series. The plan is to run it each year so we are opened to any suggestions and we will be flexible doing changes during the series of events. We've teamed up with our partners who sponsor the event (more below).

About the event:
We will use Live For Speed's FOX car for the races and all race will take place online.
We will try to have a race per month with the exception of the summer months. Until the summer brake we invite everybody to participate in the races. Depend from the servers we will launch each race for 10+5 racers (10 racers and 5 on stand by in case somebody wont show up). If everybody shows up we will let all 15 racers race.
You can collect points until the summer brake and then we will select the top 20 drivers and in the last 3 races only they can race.
We may run more than one race during the race weekend and will combine the total racing time of each and assign points to the first 8 timeholders (combined from each races on the same date).
The planned lenght of each race is between 40 min to an hour.

Points:
We use the standard FIA F1 point system:
1st place: 10 p
2nd place: 8 p
3rd place: 6 p
4th place: 5 p
5th place: 4 p
6th place: 3 p
7th place: 2 p
8th place: 1 p

Rules:
We will monitor the races and enforce the rules (please check back often before the race as we may change some based on your recommendation).
There will be a qualification session and the fastest driver will start from the first grid.
We will ask everyone to pit at least once.
While we recognise racing accidents we will check each of them and if necessary will add penalties or in extreme cases we will ban racers from current or all future races.
In case of yellow flag no passing at any circumstances. If you are in accident no jumping to the pit; you need to drive to fix your car. If you cannot move your car wait and we will let you know what to do.
Absolutelly no passing during (in case) safety car. We will blackflag anyone passing during safety car.

All decision we make are final however after each race we give you 48 hours to report anything you feel we've missed during the race. We ask you to please send us the replay and point out which lap should we check. We will announce the winners approximately a week after the event.

And here comes the most important part:

Prizes:

Every race event's winner (1/month or event) will receive a 1:43 race car model from feelThere (see picture below) in the color of his/her own country's flag. There is a catch; we will supply skins for the cars and if you wish to get this prize you need to race in that specific color. If your country is not represented we also supply a generic skin so you can race even if your flag is not represented. In case you win we will make your color and it will be your choice to decide if you need the generic paint or your country's flag.
Note: these cars are custom painted so it will take about 4-6 weeks to send them to you.

NEW: if someone would win the model car second (third, etc) time it will automatically goes to the next positioned racer who have not won the car yet. This will ensure that most of the drivers eventually will get the model car.

The top 4 winners by the end of the season (either November or December) will receive the following prizes from our sponsors:

1st place
G25 Logitech Limited Edition racing set from Simware
2nd place
TrackIr from NaturalPoint
3rd place
ButtKicker Gamer by ButtKicker
4th place
2500 high resolution skin downloads from LFS

This model is just a proof of concept the final car may be different from this one.

Please post your questions and suggestions.

Thank you

Vic & team

Hello!

Is there a set schedule yet? I have a few races coming up and I want to see if this series fits into my plans.

Thanks!

Lee,

Please use the vote feature to let us know when is the best time to launch the race. If necessary we'll launch more than one race to accomodate as much request as possible.

I did. smile

Actually, I was thinking more on the lines of race dates rather than times. Also, if you have more than one race per event weekend, I assume each race is only open to a select group and that no one can race both races? How will the points work out considering you would effectively have two event winners?

Thanks!
-Lee

The date is pretty much set for the 16th (we plan at least 1 race/month).
I'm ok with more than one race but I'd like to make sure at least 10 racers will race agains each other in each session. The way we'll select the winner is to combine each driver's total racing time and select the best one. This way we'll have only one winner from each event smile Also this is how we'll ise the points for the top 8.

The event will start at 17:00 UTC with the qualification. After 20 minutes qualification the 30 laps race will start.

Good luck!

That's odd Vic, it doesnt work for me either?
I did a search for it and it seems that someone has removed it.

Basically, I was promoting your championship on the LFS forum page.

Dave it looks like you copied the link before actually posting the thread at LFS forum. Your link reads "newthread.php?do=postthread&f=22" while a link for a valid thread should read something like "showthread.php?t=xxxxx". It means that you were on the page of new thread creation when you copied the link and it shouldn't work anyway.

Yes Dave i would like another series ,either with the FOX or the FO8 ,although the BF1 is a great car to drive it would be a nice change to compete in one of the other open wheelers ,so i would definately vote YES to another series.smile wink

Count me in. I really like the Fox and FO8.
I have spent the odd session trying to drive on the Fox junkies server, but they're a bunch of crashers. (generally)

If enough people are interested, I will look to starting this in the winter around October time.

Vic, could we use your server please?

Maybe when the GTR has finished or perhaps, as well as?
